	Generation Gaps	/TomClements

AMPS was analog and circuit switched
The 1G wireless technology of choice
For voice

Next came text
And streaming data
Modulated on a 2G wave, the play
Was pretty much CDMA
TDMA and GSM, a mess
Of letters lumped together under PCS

And now the underdog WiFi
Threatens to make mincemeat
Of the 3G spectrum pie
802.11 abg
Unregulated, free-form, license free
A lilly pad of nodes expanding out
Confers upon the little guy
Unprecedented broadband clout
