NetBeans IDE 4.0 Beta 2 is now available
The NetBeans open source project has announced that the NetBeans IDE 4.0 Beta 2 is now available.
65 of the 900 bugs fixed are performance related. Some of the cool enhancements include:
- J2SE 1.5 - The tiger is in the tank of this release! metadata, generics, enumerated types and autoboxing of primitive types are now suported in the IDE and debugger.
- Ant-based projects - Ant is now the underlying engine for the new project system.
- J2ME - Support for MIDP 2.0 and CDLC 1.1 as well as code obfuscation.
- Refactoring - Features such as renames (class/method/field), move class, rename package, change method parameters, encapsulate field and find references.
All users of NetBeans IDE 4.0 Beta 1 should transition to this release.

Since the Beta 1 release, over 900 bugs have been fixed including 65 in the performance area.
