Bill Joy Says Security in Software Is a Must

I think Bill Joy is right on in writing that "[d]evelopers need to make security a priority from the earliest stages of planning—and buyers should demand nothing less." See his recent article on Business Week, Software Isn't Complete Unless It's Secure.Identity frauds and such, not to mention security threats on a large scale, are downright scary and devastating. Software being so ubiquitous and virtually indispensable, built-in protection for privacy is superimportant. A bow to Bill Joy for being a champion.
