How to Head Off DST-Change-Related Time Errors in Sun's Web Tier ProductsPosted by marinasum on January 31, 2007 at 4:06 PM PST
Starting this year, Daylight Saving Time (DST) in the United States will begin on the second Sunday of March and end on the first Sunday of November. John O'Conner's September 2006 article, U.S. Daylight Saving Time Changes in 2007, explains the background and the ways to eliminate time errors in Java applications.Specifically for Sun Java System Web Server and Sun Java System Web Proxy Server, Sun Developer Network has posted an FAQ, Effects of 2007 Daylight Saving Time Changes on Sun's Web Tier Products, with pointers to the relevant OS and JDK and JRE patches, also the upgrade sites. All crystal clear. Note the reminders at the bottom: Upgrades make a lot of sense. »
