Java Power Tools is a JOLT Award Finalist!
The Java Power Tools book has been named a finalist in the 2008 JOLT Awards! The JOLT awards have been referred to as the Oscars of the software industry, so it's a huge honour to have been selected in the finalists. Java Power Tools appears in the Technical Books category, along with 4 other compelling high-calibre works, including:
- High Performance MySQL by Baron Schwartz, Peter Zaitsev, Vadim Tkachenko, Jeremy Zawodny, Arjen Lentz, Derek J. Balling (O'Reilly Media)
- Programming in Scala by Martin Odersky, Lex Spoon, and Bill Venners (Artima Press)
- Real World Haskell by John Goerzen, Bryan O'Sullivan, Donald Bruce Stewart (O'Reilly Media)
- The iPhone Developer's Cookbook: Building Applications with the iPhone SDK by Erica Sadun (Addison-Wesley Professional)
O'Reilly did well this year, with 3 out of the 5 finalists being O'Reilly publications.
Check out the complete list at http://www.joltawards.com/finalists.html. The winners will be announced at the SD West conference on March 11, 2008.
I was also very honoured to see that Java Power Tools was also listed in Meera Subbarao's Top 5 Books I Read in 2008. Thanks, Meera!
