Hot off the press on Sun Developer Network is Gary Williams's article, Perspectives on Quality Assurance for OpenDS, an eye-opening commentary on how quality is achieved in OpenDS, Sun's open-source project for developing a next-generation directory service. The details focus on the opportunities, challenges, roles, guidelines, tools, and so forth.
