Building Drizzle on the OpenSolaris OS
Sun-sponsored, open-source Project Drizzle, which originated from MySQL code, aims at developing a lightweight SQL database for cloud and Web applications. Trond Norbye's recent posting tells you how to compile Drizzle on the OpenSolaris OS. You link to the proper header file, install the packages, the readline library, and the Google Protocol buffers; download and compile Bazaar; and, finally, check out and compile the source code.
Altogether, about 20 or so command lines and you're all set. As Trond points out, with Sun's VirtualBox, the process is even more of a cakewalk.
