JDK Community Launched
Today I am pleased to announce the launching of the JDK Community to enable developers to take advantage of and extend the J2SE. The JDK community home page is intended to be a single source for J2SE development information. It will contain featured articles as well as news feeds related to the J2SE development and usage. The navigation toolbar will provide the user with quick links to useful information like the mustang downloads, upcoming events, and community blogs.
On the project side of the community you'll find all the projects we started last fall but also new projects. The community is ready to hosting research projects related to the J2SE development. While some of the projects will have to reside behind the Java Research License gate, we are also looking at hosting projects that don't have such licensing issues. If you have an idea for a project that is closely tied to the J2SE we'd love to hear from you.
As the community leader I look forward to serving you and growing this community. I encourage you to come and participate in the blogs, forums, mailing lists, and projects. Together we will make Java a better development platform.
