Desktop Java Features in Mustang

Posted by chet on April 20, 2005 at 01:15 PM | Comments (2)

There's an article posted on java.sun.com that talks about the ongoing feature work in the desktop group. We hope this helps you understand what we're busy with and what you can look forward to in the 6.0 release.

The article should be fairly dynamic and we will try to update it when things change. So, for example, when a particular feature is integrated into the release, we'll put information in the article about what build has that feature.

Check out the article, download the latest Mustang release, and let us know what you think.

  • Hi Chet.

I see there's no mention (yet) in that article of bug 6234095, which is about the unfriendliness of WebStart's security dialog.

I heard on the grapevine that some changes to the security dialog have been made already.
    Is this true?
If so, could someone describe the changes or, even better, post a screen shot?

    Thanks,
    Graham.

  • It was mentioned briefly under "Improve user experience in Java Plug-in and Java Web Start".
