The Blue Screen of Death

I don't know where this came from. I don't know if it's even officially a Sun commercial. It's definitely not in line with our latest efforts to make friends with Microsoft. But it sure is funny.

Derby 10.2 Beta - Regression Search and Destroy

Posted by davidvc on August 11, 2006 at 05:31 PM | Permalink | Comments (0)

Just a quick note to let you know that Derby 10.2 is now in beta, available for download at http://people.apache.org/~rhillegas/10.2.1.0-beta/

Derby 10.2 contains a lot of great new features, including

  • JDBC4 support

  • XML Support for XPATH and XQUERY

  • Online backup

  • GRANT/REVOKE

  • Scrollable Updatable Result Sets

  • Optimizer Overrides

A lot of features also means potential for destabilization. If you have applications written to Derby, I highly recommend you pull down this beta and run it through its paces to make sure there are no regressions for you. If there are, please let us know through the derby-user mailing list. We even have a Regression Search and Destroy Challenge going on, and the winner gets a box of chocolate.
