We've been busy bees on the OASIS Security Services Technical Committee (the "SAML TC"). The design work for SAML Version 2.0 is well under way; it will include robust identity federation features based on the Federation Framework (ID-FF) V1.2 contributions received from the Liberty Alliance, along with other new/improved features, such as a format and protocol for exchanging configuration data ("metadata") between communicating partners.

Implementation and interoperability testing are proceeding apace. In the past, we've held interop testing/demo sessions at Burton Group Catalyst conferences, and this time the TC is pleased to be able to hold a third session at the RSA Conference being held February 23-27 in the Moscone Center in San Francisco. The "OASIS SAML 1.1 Interoperability Showcase" will be held in booth 235. We'll be focusing on showing interop of SAML V1.1 features, including XML Signature support.

If you're planning to attend the conference, come on down to the SAML interop booth and take a look!
