Thanks to the staff at java.net, I've got my brand new blog in the most important Java community on the planet. Wow. This means that I will try to make my posts even more interesting, as I have to keep up with the quality of my new home.
As you probably deduced by the title, this first entry is just a test to see if I'm able to use the java.net blogging tools without causing too damage. But I'll soon start talking about some recent work I've done putting together Java desktop stuff and Jini.
Stay tuned.

Hi, it's nice to see an Italian face here! It seems in Italy we don't have much java activity...
Good luck for your blogging!

Ciao Riccardo. Thanks for letting me test the comment management ;-)
Indeed we _do_ have Java activity in Italy, perhaps we don't advertise it enough. For instance we have a lot of Java Champions (Fabrizio Gianneschi is also the latest winner of the Duke Award) and some local JUGs are really active.
BTW your name sounds sardinian: are you aware of the JUG Sardegna? They are going to have a Java Day at the end of November, and looking at their news page they look really active (and Fabrizio Gianneschi comes from and works in Sardegna).

I see, you' re probably right. I'm sardinian (from Cagliari) but I live and work in Bologna and the local JUG doesn't really look that active... :-(
BTW I'll most certainly have a look at JUG Sardegna!
