How do you compare Grizzly 1.5 with Mina
? At first sight, it looks like Grizzly 1.5 could be thought as a server-side-only Mina-like with a better out-of-the-box common protocol handling (e.g. default handling of common protocol, like http). How do you compare them ? Thanks.

Although Mina and Grizzly are targeting the same audience, I don't want to enter a discussion about which one is the best. People interested to build scalable application should look at both framework and decide which one is the easiest to use. I think and wrote about it several times that Mina is a great framework with an extremely good community supporting it. The only comparison I will make with Mina is performance related....and you will have to wait for my JavaOne 2007 session before seeing the result :-) Still, ease of use and how the community is supporting the framework should always be taken into consideration before picking Grizzly or Mina. Anyway both are based on NIO, which is great!!

I would add to Jfarcand great comments ... As Grizzly project member I would differentiate MINA and Grizzly as Apache MINA is a general purpose framework where Grizzly's major focus and purpose is on performance, (not that it's difficult to use or program too). In addition, although up through Grizzly 1.5, the focus has been on server side applications, future release will integrate client side connectivity in addition to other features. Discussions on what will be targetted for the next release will begin shortly after the JavaOne conference in May. Anyone is welcome to join Project Grizzly community at https://grizzly.dev.java.net and observe what we planning. We are very open about what we are planning and doing.

OK, thanks for replies, I appreciate. I did not wanted to ask about which one is the best. That's was NOT my point. I just wanted to get rapidly a coarse-grained feature opinion about how to position those 2 frameworks from guys who know about what they are talking about. This being said, I have liked few details you gave me. Thanks again.
