The "Tricks and Tips with NIO, Using the Grizzly Framework" session presented at JavaOne 2007 is now online. You can also find the Embedding the Grizzly Framework BOF here. If you are interested to contribute to Project Grizzly, just start here!

  • There is an interesting thread on MINA vs Grizzly here that started because of the JavaOne numbers we have presented (download the slides above). We compared Grizzly with Tomcat (see the details here) and AsyncWeb running on MINA vs AsyncWeb running on Grizzly. Unfortunately because of the SUN bashing threads Apache folks are expert to start (I'm ready for my upcoming ApacheConf 2007 session :-)), you will need to skip some replies as they are completely unrelated to the topic. We did the comparison just to illustrate the tricks and tips learned over the year. MINA is great (I think I keep saying this), but has a different design philosophy than Grizzly. Anyway, competition is always good! At the end the user will decide which one to use, benchmark or not., java.net or not, Apache or Sun, etc. :-)
