Java DB upgraded in Glassfish V2

The new release of Java DB includes many new features and improvements including:

• JDBC 4.0 Support
• Improved on-line backup support
• Support for Scrollable and Updatable ResultSets
• Grant and Revoke Support
• a $JAVADB_HOME/bin directory with easier to use scripts for Java DB utilities.

• it's good news to have the latest and greatest Derby features and performance. But in the JavaDB distribution, I think there is an important concern of stability and standardization. No good if each build of Glassfish / SJSAS, Sun JDK, and perhaps other packages that bundle the JavaDB, contains a different Derby core, with a different set of features (so certain DDL commands will work here and not there, datafiles won't move to other setups etc.). I hope Sun will synchronize things, for example, JDK 6.0u3 is just around the corner, so I fully expect that this JDK will bundle the exact same JavaDB that's in Glassfish v2 (and the corresponding update of SJSAS / Java EE 5 SDK).
