Forbes recently published an eye-opening Q&A with Eugene McCabe, executive vice president for worldwide operations at Sun. His answers explain how and why Sun's One Touch supply chain works efficiently and effectively with direct shipments from vendors to customers. The solutions are geared toward bypassing the drawbacks of forecasting and prebuilding systems.Shouldn't we apply the same principles in other parts of the organization? Accurate crystal balls being a myth, we should structure our tasks on the basis of realities as much as feasible. And simplicity is definitely the way to go, not as if simple designs are easy to come by.

Speaking of simplicity, I adore ASCII text documents, including text-based email. You, too?
