Sun's Tim Bray on SOA and Web Services
I enjoyed reading a recent Q&A with Tim Bray, Sun director of Web technologies and XML guru. He fretted that the term SOA is overhyped and that it's become tough to differentiate between SOA and Web services. A notable quote: "If you are confused about what SOA really means, it's because the world is."Bray advocates the new term "Web-style" and adds that there are too many standards for XML and Web services. Maybe soon, successful ones that are, in his words, "distillations of technology that already exist[s]" will emerge? Let's hope so.
