eWeek Article Says OpenSolaris 2008.11 Competes With Linux
eWeek just published an illuminating two-part series, Sun Enhancements to OpenSolaris Take Aim at Linux. The author, Jason Brooks, starts by writing, "The updates to the free Solaris-based OS [show] that Sun will not follow IBM and HP in letting Linux take over the platform space once dominated by [UNIX]." He then describes the benefits of the major capabilities in OpenSolaris 2008.11 and the support offerings from Sun; and suggests further improvements for ease of use.Since OpenSolaris 2008.11 was released in December, it's collected a host of kudos. See a couple of my previous postings:
The Sun staff and the community behind the OpenSolaris Project well deserve an attaboy. Keep up the excellent work!
