Java SE 6 is out

Java SE 6 was released in it's final form on Monday, 12th December to the world. Support for Web Services and XML data binding were a couple of the key new features added to the Java platform in this release. See Vivek's blog for an example of the kind of Web Service endpoints and how to build Web Service clients using Java SE 6.

JAX-WS 2.0, JAXB 2.0 and Common Annotations now final

The SE / EE executive committee for the JCP approved the final versions of the JAX-WS 2.0 (JSR 224), JAXB 2.0 (JSR 222) and Common Annotations (JSR 250) This is a very important milestone for the development of Web Services in the Java Platform. JAX-WS 2.0 and JAXB 2.0 are part of the Java SE 6 platform and the Java EE 5 platform.
