Java SE 6 Update 10 released

Sun released today the production release of Java SE 6 Update 10. This release is much awaited, since JavaOne 2007 when Sun was talking about the JavaKernel (then in prototype stage); and it later accumulated a multitude of other important client-side improvements: Quick Starter, Next-gen Plug-in, Revamped D3D pipeline, Deployment Tookit, Nimbus, Patch-in-Place... in the endgame, there was some JavaFX-related activity too (optimizations and fixes) so you can consider this the runtime part for the (quickly?) upcoming JavaFX 1.0 FCS. All in all, 6u10 is a massive improvement that will hopefully increase Java's competitiveness in the heated RIA space.
