Two poems by James Kobielus

FEASIBILITY OF ADAPTIVE ARRAYS

Trained to receive, every fiber of me, every facet of you.
Unimpeded, one path, one singular path, through crowded sensations.
Recognizing our kind.
Now turning away.

Trying to receive, every moment of time, every flicker of thought and soft emanation.
Unobstructed, then blocked, then scattered through layers, accidental relations.
Recollecting our mind.
Now turning away.

True to my thoughts, we're moving in tandem.
Unawares, we're speaking the language of light.
Reconstructing our world through massive obstruction.
Now moving closer, now turning away.

RE:BYE

ACK:
Just a keep-alive ping.
Session context endures.
Async pipeline preserved.
Attenuated latency caused premature notification of impending time-out.
Host please send next packet.
Admin please note
channel-jitter condition.
END-ACK

	Generation Gaps	/TomClements

AMPS was analog and circuit switched
The 1G wireless technology of choice
For voice

Next came text
And streaming data
Modulated on a 2G wave, the play
Was pretty much CDMA
TDMA and GSM, a mess
Of letters lumped together under PCS

And now the underdog WiFi
Threatens to make mincemeat
Of the 3G spectrum pie
802.11 abg
Unregulated, free-form, license free
A lilly pad of nodes expanding out
Confers upon the little guy
Unprecedented broadband clout

EDI came first, the game deluxe
Played by major corporations
With big bucks
Next web services brought hope
Reduced the ante, amplified the scope
Of doing business on the Net
And yet
One thing was lacking
Business process definitions, asset tracking
A global way for anyone to buy and sell --
Transnational transactions:
