Bioart presents interesting, subversive concepts in the arts. Are there metaphors, concepts or more, that transfer from bioart to (java) robotics? What might they be? How could the transfer work?

Sound language for robots. It's true that in many cases, they don't need it - silent data transmission is efficient. On the other hand, audio simultaneously can encode information for robots & tell humans about system status.

An example with chickadees .... perhaps implying applications to/for robot swarms? Suggesting that a robot swarm communicate as required by the swarm and humans follow along as needed .... or vice versa?

Bruce Boyes, my Java Robotics co-leader sent me a link to 'Pierced Eyeglasses.' Not wanting to miss a prime opportunity to reciprocate, I sent him over to 'Frog with implanted webserver.'

Pieced Eyeglasses: http://www.bmezine.com/news/pubring/20041214.html

Frog with Implanted Webserver: http://www.conceptlab.com/frog/

'Pierced Eyeglasses' and 'Frog with implanted webserver,' both of which describe and show ideas about (radical) body modification, raise questions, for sure. Jumping to the world of Java robotics and code, is there an equivalent to radical body modification? Well, what is it?
