Id like to take Eduardos call to action one step further in terms of welcoming the non-English speaking international community to java.net. Java.net is a site with the potential to become the central train station for all things Java. As a community, we should be able to welcome all users and developers, regardless of their language.
While I havent seen the source code for the java.net site, hopefully it is taking advantage of JSP best practices and not hard-coding English strings into the pages. Using standard J2SE ResourceBundle, we should be able to use and take advantage of formatting actions in the JSTL so that all displayed text comes from specific resource bundles. If in fact the JSTL is currently being used on the site, we should be able to create a new java.net project so that various ResourceBundle files are open-sourced that can then be translated by members of the community (as Eduardo suggested). Not only will this encourage participation from community members around the world, but wed have a site that showcases some of the latest Java web development technologies.
I fully understand that this is an incredibly dynamic site (information-wise), but dynamic content is what its all about. If we cant accommodate the requirements of handling dynamic content in multiple languages, then how can we expect other Java developers to? If there are members of the java.net web development team reading this, maybe you can add some comments if something similar to this approach is in the works?

Translation of Creation ?
Could you explain what you are asking ?
Translation of blogs of famous java people ?
or be creative in his native language ?
Because I translated somes documents in the NetBeans website, I can say you that it will be not easy.
The first thing to do is to migrate to UTF-8
The second thing is to ask to CollabNet to integrate in their product the support for other language.
For example, by NetBeans, it has been decided that when I translate a document in french, I commit it at the same place with the extention _fr .
Then a script will add a french flag with a link to the french page on the english page and it does the same for other language translated pages.
But it's not working for others projects. It's only working for the www project. Because we commit all documents in another hidden project (testwww) and the script run every 1/2 hours to update the www project. And you can't do that for all NetBeans modules. But if Collabnet integrate that feature in their engine, every module, every project can/could have that feature..
Do you thinks it's possible to have a wiki for other language ?

Translation of Creation ?
Actually, what I was initially suggesting is that the java.net site be (or continues to be) built using best practices. This would make it easier to start a community translation process using resource files that can be provided by the site creators. The next step in that path would be to facilitate translation of the daily posted content. For example, if there was a way to access the content for this blog you could translate it to Spanish or French. You would be able to repost it as a translated link. Maybe we have discuss, permalink, and translation links. The task of doing dynamic translation on a site that will eventually contain a huge amount of data might be a daunting one, but it would be interesting to see how the community responds to it. Is it worthwhile to have translations of the bloggers? Should project descriptions and wikis be in multiple languages? I guess these are the questions that will need to be raised (and answered) by the viewers of the site to see just how important the multi-lingual support really is.
