Spanish Java

Posted by joshy on December 12, 2003 at 07:09 AM | Comments (3)

I was looking at the referers to my Swing has failed article and I noticed a site called Java Hispano.org. I think it's really cool that there is a spanish language java site. This is one of the things I love about the Java community. It brings together people from many different backgrounds, unified by the goal of making high quality reusable software.

I'd just like to thank the community for making this such a great language. Now back to coding!

  • Hi from javaHispano
Hello Joshua, I'm one of the people who are behind javaHispano. I would like to tell two things, first, we like to spell our name with the "j" in lowercase and the “H” in uppercase :).
Second, go on writing such good stuff as your “Swing has failed. What can we do?”, that translated to Spanish is “Swing ha fracasado. ¿Que podemos hacer?”. It wasn’t only a success in java.net, but also was in javaHispano: http://www.javahispano.org/news.item.action?id=1059050878. You probably won’t understand anything about what we said there, but it fired a debate which came up with several interesting pint of view.
    Greetings.

  • Hi from javaHispano
    Abraham,

If you have a moment, I would appreciate if you could summarize some of the debate and add it to the feedback for Joshua's article so that others can benefit.

    Thank you,

    Daniel (editor of java.net)

  • I've been using www.altavista.com Babelfish as an online translator for the www.Senejug.com - the West African JUG and its mailing list. People from Senegal speak French and Wolof. Babelfish is batting 500 with French. Not only is my French improving, but we're talking more. And, you know what they say..."As long as you're talking, you're in the game!"
