Apple not deprecating Java, after all

Just published: Oracle and Apple announced joint efforts for OpenJDK 7. So, step by step, Oracle is strongly consolidating the OpenJDK, even resolving a very old problem, the relationship with Java on Mac OS X. These are excellent news. As you can read in the blog, there are no certain things about times (when OpenJDK 7 will be ready)... we have to wait for that.

So, lets hope that Google

So, lets hope that Google sees the writing on the wall and also joins the OpenJDK. Maybe Android on top of OpenJDK?
Finally Apache should also join. Merge Harmony and OpenJDK. Then there is peace in Java land and the assembled power of big IT companies can concentrate on fixing bugs and advancing Java technology
