Larry Nelson to Lead GELC

Larry has been with the Sun Education team as the Global Group Manager for Primary/Secondary Education for the past few years, and I am excited that he will bring his expertise to drive the ongoing development of the GELC.

As Global Group Manager for Primary/Secondary Education, Larry was responsbible for Sun's K-12 strategy and solution partnerships. In this capacity he and his team managed relationships with partners in the administration, infrastructure, student information systems and eLearning segments for the K-12 marketplace.

As Global Group Manager for Primary/Secondary Education, Larry was responsbible for Sun's K-12 strategy and solution partnerships. In this capacity he and his team managed relationships with partners in the administration, infrastructure, student information systems and eLearning segments for the K-12 marketplace.

Prior to joining Sun, Larry was Vice President of Marketing at SchoolCity.com. At SchoolCity, Larry managed the marketing, business development, telemarketing and sales. He also enjoyed success in managing the finances at SchoolCity where he increased productivity of cash +250%, helped to close SEC Series A documentation, managed the creation of the company's first financial statements and tax returns, and prepared and delivered presentations to the company's investors and board members.

Prior to joining SchoolCity, Larry was President and CEO of Decision Development Corporation (DDC), a privately held educational software and Internet publisher. He is currently co-Chairman of the School Interoperability Framework board (SIF) and has held numerous leadership roles within the industry including two terms on the Education Section Board for the Software Publishers' Association-

now known as the Software Information Industry Association (SIIA). In 1997, Larry was appointed to and served on the Texas State Legislature's Committee to analyze the use of Laptop Computers and Network-based systems as delivery mechanisms for curriculum to students and schools. Prior to SchoolCity and DDC, Larry grounded his business acumen at General Foods, the Procter & Gamble Company, and Bloomingdale's.

Larry's personal interests include family--he and his wife are the proud parents of two sons--friends, and golf. A three time club champion, Mr. Nelson was Co-Chairman of Corporate Hospitality for the 1998 US Open at the Olympic Club, San Francisco, CA. Current community service activities include serving on the Board of the Tassajara Valley Little League, and Crow Canyon Country Club Tournament Committee.

Larry earned his MBA from Cornell University in 1987 and his AB in Political Science from Vassar College in 1983.
