Noteworthy Threads From Sun Java Studio Enterprise Forum, Part 1
The Sun Java Studio Enterprise Software Forum is the place for you to congregate with fellow developers and the Java Studio Enterprise engineering team online: You can ask questions, post comments, discuss bugs or issues, share your thoughts about the UI, offer suggestions. Not a participant yet? Just join Sun Developer Network--for free--and then sign in and post away.
In this series, I'll recap a few threads that are of interest. As in the case of a previous series, Nifty Capabilities in Sun Java Studio Enterprise 8 Early Access, Nathan Fiedler of the Java Studio Enterprise development team is the background hero who extracted and explained the threads to me. A salute to him.
Application Verification Kit on Adventure Builder
A recent posting by catwood revealed a problem with running Application Verification Kit (AVK) with Sun Java Studio Enterprise 8 Early Access on the Adventure Builder sample application, that is, AVK cannot find the Base64 class. What to do?
Karthik looked into that problem and discovered that Sun Java System Application Server actually can find the JAR files without a glitch. AVK cannot because the files are located in a nonstandard directory. In his response, Karthik mentioned Tomcat, which doesn't apply, however, because AVK works with Sun Java System Application Server only.
Bottom line: Just ignore the error message regarding the "missing" Base64 class.
For details, see the thread in question.
Stay tuned for part 2 please.
