Here is a noteworthy tip from Prakash Narayan, an engineering manager of the Sun Java Studio Enterprise development team:

Wanna find out whether an application developed with Sun Java Studio Enterprise 8 runs on application servers that are compatible with the J2EE platform? Get your answer from the Java Application Verification Kit (AVK), which dynamically validates the execution of Web and Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB) components in applications. To download the Java AVK module in conjunction with the updated plug-in to Sun Java System Application Server 8.1, first choose Update Center from the Tools menu in Sun Java Studio Enterprise 8. It's an intuitive process from there on.

To start the Java AVK in Sun Java Studio Enterprise 8, right-click a project node and choose Verify Project from the context menu. The IDE then prompts you with a question of whether you desire dynamic verification. As soon as you answer yes, the Java AVK instruments the Sun Java System Application Server instance.

Check out this video that shows you how to use the Java AVK.
