Localizing Portals

Posted by marinasum on December 12, 2006 at 3:28 PM PST

Do you know that the Sun Java Enterprise System installer supports seven languages (Spanish, German, French, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese)? You can configure Sun Java System Portal Server, which is part of Sun Java Enterprise System, to display UI wording (time, date, messages) in whatever language you choose—even if it's not on that list. The procedure in question is the theme of a newly published article on Sun Developer Network, Creating Multilingual Portals. A future article, slated to be published around February 2007, will describe how to localize portlets. I'll be sure to highlight it here, too.
