Want a Job Coding Extreme Swing?

Posted by joshy on March 26, 2009 at 9:24 PM PDT

I don't normally post about job offers, but this one is simply too cool to pass up. The guys at Limewire are looking to hire a new Swing developer. For those of you who don't know, Limewire is the premier peer-to-peer file sharing client on the Interwebs. These guys have been doing killer Swing GUIs for a long time and even inspired some of the hacks the book Chris and I wrote. If hired, you'd get to work on their audio player and develop a new video player for the Limewire client. Sounds like a dream job.

All of the details are on their website; in a wiki, of course.

Hello Joshua, Thanks by that info. Do you know where I can find a Freelance Job Coding Swing? Greetings from Cartagena/Colombia!

why should I want to work for people whose core business is providing tools for people intent on stealing mine and others' intellectual property?

Sounds nice. Too sad it's in Manhattan and not Berlin...

I wasn't sure how to get this to you. So, I figured I'd post it here. As I watched the following video and looked into how it was done, I realized that this would make for a really good java one javafx demo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mk1xjbA-ISE He based a lot of his stuff on openframework. However, a demo that did something similar that used java to do the image analysis/recognition and fx to render the special effects (in real time) would be really impressive. I may send this through a couple of other channels to see if i can get it to someone. If I had time, I'd do it myself. :) LES
