Thanks for the info, Pavan

Oops, that first link is a bit redundant, isn't it? :-) Watch for the second and third articles in that series on InsideRIA over the next two weeks. The Stock Tracker tutorial is also a good way to get an overview of how Pivot "feels" compared to other technologies: http://cwiki.apache.org/PIVOT/stock-tracker.html

Hi Pavan, Our proposal to the Apache Incubator covers some comparison points between Pivot and Swing/JavaFX: http://wiki.apache.org/incubator/PivotProposal Pivot is conceptually more similar to Flex, only applications are written in Java and run in the Java plugin vs. ActionScript/Flash player. Here are some recent articles that may provide some additional insight: http://www.insideria.com/2009/04/exploring-apache-pivot-11-part.html http://java.dzone.com/news/building-simple-rss-client http://java.dzone.com/news/calling-flex-data-services-piv The last one actually covers calling Flex data services from Pivot. Hi Greg, Pivot seems quite easy and powerful for RIA stuff..similar to flex. I searched thru the online docs/tutorials about the architecture of the toolkit.... if u could give a brief comparison to flex/javafx in terms of similarities and diff it would be gr8. Also a lot of documentation on things like effects/binding internals is not present online... Thanks, Pavan
