SwingX 1.6.4 Released

Posted by kschaefe on July 23, 2012 at 7:30 AM PDT

I am pleased to announce the release of SwingX 1.6.4. This release is small, fixing a few critical items and following the standard process of removing deprecated code. The main cause for this release was that SwingX 1.6.3 failed to correctly build the swingx-all sources and javadoc jars.

Please let us know if you have any issues or concerns with this release.

Hi , please fix this small problem on promptsupport and nimbus.
http://java.net/jira/browse/SWINGX-1476

it has a fix already on the old xswingx issue report:
http://code.google.com/p/xswingx/issues/detail?id=10

but it never got integrated. Maybe it's not feasible for swingx, what with painters or something, i don't know.

Hi kschaefe,

Thanks for picking up the ball and running with it with SwingX. I use a smaller portion of it with MyUniPortal Rolling Thunder SAAS. I really like the idea of only use what you need and Romain Guy years ago had a online app here that did just that. I am not sure how you do that now with SwingX but I would like to know how to do that. I also just added Autocomplete to my app and was wondering why I never saw something like that except in a few blogs so hats off to SwingX!!

Also, I am wondering why SwingX never did a progress bar where two progress status bars are updated together like when you are downloading a video where you have one status bar of downlaod and the other playing the video. I have not found an example of that yet in java anywhere.

Where I can download it?
I was unable to find the jars inside http://swingx.java.net/ because http://java.net/projects/swingx/downloads/directory/releases give me 1.6.3 version files.

Great news! Good to see that there is active progress in SwingX. This proofs that there is general interest and Swing is anything but dead. This might be politically incorrect but... hey Oracle: See, there IS GUI action without JavaFX!
